Our History
In 1966 a group of fire department mechanics put together a class for other mechanics. This led to the formation of the Wisconsin Fire Equipment Mechanics Association. The goal of the organization was and remains to provide high quality, low cost and local factory training to fire department mechanics in Wisconsin and surrounding states. In 1999 the name was changed to Wisconsin Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians to more accurately reflect to increasing role technology has in today’s fire apparatus. In 2007 we began utilizing a conference hotel and holding our Annual Dinner Meeting at the hotel. Listed below is a list of people that have led the organization over the many years it has been in existence. For over 45 years we have continued to provide high quality, low cost and local factory training to technicians from Wisconsin and surrounding areas, and will continue to provide in the years to come.
